Mental health awareness has become increasingly important across workplaces and communities, particularly within health, social care, and customer-facing roles. This fully online course introduces learners to mental health and a range of common mental health problems, helping build understanding and confidence when supporting others. On the course you'll explore prevalent mental health conditions and how they may affect individuals’ thoughts, behaviours, and daily lives. You’ll gain insight into how mental health challenges can present and why awareness, empathy, and appropriate responses are essential in professional and everyday interactions. The course also considers how individuals can work with or interact sensitively and effectively with people experiencing mental health problems. Learning focuses on awareness rather than clinical practice, making it suitable for a wide range of learners, including employees, volunteers, carers, and those seeking to improve personal understanding. Delivered entirely online, the course allows you to study flexibly from anywhere and at a pace that suits you. Learning materials are clear and accessible, making it easy to fit study around work or personal commitments. It is important to note that when you enrol on an Access to HE courseyou can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college or training provider in England.

Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.

Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.
