Manufacturing plays a vital role in the local and national economy, offering a wide range of job opportunities across production, assembly, warehousing, and quality support. This course is designed to help you gain the skills, confidence, and knowledge you need to move quickly into employment within the manufacturing sector. This short, focused programme provides an introduction to modern manufacturing environments and employer expectations. On successful completion, you are guaranteed a job interview with one of Hull College’s partner manufacturing employers. Throughout the course, you’ll explore the fundamentals of working safely and effectively in a manufacturing setting. Training covers key topics such as health and safety, workplace behaviours, quality awareness, teamwork, and communication. You’ll also gain an understanding of production processes, problem-solving, and the importance of accuracy, reliability, and efficiency in manufacturing roles. The programme also includes employability support to help you prepare for work. You’ll develop confidence, understand employer expectations, and receive guidance on interviews and workplace readiness. All learning is designed to reflect real manufacturing environments and current workforce needs. Training is delivered in a supportive setting by experienced tutors, helping you build confidence and practical understanding. No previous manufacturing experience is required, as the course focuses on developing transferable skills valued across a wide range of manufacturing roles. By the end of the programme, you’ll be better prepared for employment, equipped with essential skills, and ready to take advantage of your guaranteed interview to begin a career in manufacturing. Entry Requirements Must be unemployed or a jobseeker claiming either Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.

Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.
