Allergy awareness is essential in many service sector roles, particularly where food handling, customer care, and public safety are involved. This fully online course introduces the key knowledge needed to understand allergies and respond appropriately in the workplace. If you're looking to upskill, the course explores the difference between allergies and intolerances and the range of allergens commonly encountered in service environments. You’ll learn how allergic reactions can present, why they can be serious, and the importance of early recognition and response. The course also covers how risks can be reduced through good practice, including awareness of food labelling, packaging, and cross-contamination. Learners will gain an understanding of responsibilities in relation to safety and customer care, helping to promote confidence and professionalism when supporting individuals with allergies. A key focus is knowing what action to take if an allergic reaction occurs, including basic first aid awareness and appropriate next steps. This knowledge is valuable for individuals working in hospitality, retail, catering, health, or other customer-facing roles, as well as employers looking to strengthen workplace safety. Delivered entirely online, the course allows you to study flexibly from anywhere, at a pace that suits you. By completing the course, you’ll build confidence and understanding, supporting safer environments for customers, colleagues, and the wider community.
