Our Hull College finalists were competing in their WorldSkills UK National Final events in Blackpool and Northern Ireland last week.

More than 500 young students and apprentices competed for gold, silver and bronze in 62 different disciplines at six colleges across the country, as well as the chance to represent Team UK in next year’s WorldSkills Olympics hosted in France.

Congratulations - and good luck - to our three students who represented Hull College with pride last week: Amy Moore (Confectionery and Patisserie), Katy Penney and Meesha Mawhinney (both Nail Technician).

With the competitions now over, the excitement is building for the virtual medal ceremony which will be hosted by Steph McGovern and broadcast live from the Channel 4 ‘Packed Lunch’ studio - starting at 4pm today (Friday).

We will be hosting a watch party for the final at our HU1 Riverside restaurant in the Horncastle Building at the college for all students and staff involved.
