Supporting Your Young Person at Every Step
From guidance and wellbeing support to creating a safe, inclusive environment, we work closely with families to help every student feel confident, supported, and ready to succeed.
College is different from school. Students are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their learning and develop the confidence and independence they will need for the future. However, this does not mean they are left to manage alone.
Attendance and progress are closely monitored, and our staff regularly check in with students to ensure they are engaging with their studies and making positive progress. If concerns arise, support is available and action is taken to help students get back on track.
Whether a student needs help with their wellbeing, confidence, finances, additional learning needs or future career plans, there are dedicated teams across the college ready to provide support.
We know that parents often have questions when their young person joins college. Will they settle in? Will they make friends? What support is available if they struggle with confidence or anxiety? How will concerns be identified?
Our aim is to create a welcoming environment where every student feels valued, supported and able to develop at their own pace.
From dedicated tutors and careers advisers to specialist wellbeing and safeguarding support, students have access to a wide range of services designed to help them succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Parents and guardians remain an important part of a student’s journey. Although college students are encouraged to become more independent, support remains available and families are encouraged to contact us if they have concerns or need advice.
Throughout the year, there are a number of important dates and events, including enrolment, induction activities, parent information events, progress reviews, examinations, results days and progression events.
This section of the website has been created to help parents and guardians access the information, support and contacts they need, giving you confidence that your young person is in safe hands and supported every step of the way.
