Enrolment begins at Hull College as students praise the college for supporting them to achieve their aspirations.

Student enrolment is underway at Hull College as a group of Level 3 students celebrate their results and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.

From progressing to university to securing an apprenticeship, this year’s students are celebrating a range of exciting next steps after completing their studies at Hull College.

Among them is 17-year-old Mia Tate, who achieved a Distinction in Level 3 Acting and is now preparing to study Acting for Screen at Leeds Arts University. Mia said her experience at Hull College had given her the confidence and support to take the next step.

“My experience at Hull College over the past two years has been amazing, genuinely. I think the best thing about studying at Hull College is the environment and the people here. The fact that you’ve got tutors who believe in you all the way, as well as great friends and great support systems, makes such a difference.

“I’m very excited to go to university. It’s going to be a new experience, and I can’t wait. I wouldn’t have been able to go to university without Hull College.”

Inioluwa Isabelle Bowoade, who achieved DMM in Level 3 Health & Social Care, is also heading to university after securing a place to study Midwifery at the University of Suffolk. She credits her time at Hull College – which has seen her gain Level 1, Level 2, and now Level 3 qualifications – with helping her become more confident and preparing her for a future career in healthcare.

“My course really helped to build my confidence and communication skills. I used to be really shy and wouldn’t always feel confident speaking to people or asking questions, but my time at Hull College has helped me become much more outgoing.

“The work experience I’ve had as part of my course has been really important too. I’ve had the opportunity to experience different care settings, which has given me a better understanding of what it’s like to work with people and has made me feel much more prepared for my future career.”

Meanwhile, Stephanie Guerrero has progressed on to the University of Hull to study Forensic Science after achieving DDM in Level 3 Applied Science.

“I thought I was going to get all Merits, with no Distinctions. When I saw my results, I was like, ‘Wow, this is not me!’ It means so much. Getting these results has really boosted my confidence. I’m very, very excited about university and very, very happy!

“Studying at Hull College has helped me a lot, especially the support from my tutors. Everyone here is understanding and helpful. It’s been a really good experience over the two years. I’ve met so many good people. I’ve also become a team leader, so I’ve developed in lots of different ways.”

For 20-year-old Xian Racasa, completing Level 3 Engineering with a triple Distinction has provided a strong foundation for the next stage of his career, with an apprenticeship now firmly in his sights.

“The practical experience in the workshops has allowed me to be much more hands-on with my learning, and I find that’s the best way for me to learn. The college has also given me lots of opportunities and opened up different pathways for my future. It’s been a really positive experience.

“Getting triple Distinction means a lot because my aim is to move on and start my career with an apprenticeship, and I think these results will really help boost my applications.”

The stories of Mia, Inioluwa, Stephanie, and Xian highlight the different routes students can take after Hull College, whether that’s progressing to university, pursuing a professional career, or securing an apprenticeship.

To follow in the footsteps of this quartet, enrolment is now underway at Hull College, with opportunities available across a wide range of courses and career pathways.
