What is construction?
Construction is all about creating, shaping, and maintaining the spaces where we live, work, and play. It’s one of the UK’s largest industries – and one that’s growing fast. Since 2015, the number of jobs in Hull and East Yorkshire has risen by 28%, an increase of 3,455 roles, making it one of the region’s fastest-expanding sectors.
Nationally, an additional 251,500 workers will be needed by 2028 to meet demand, meaning skilled professionals are in high demand. From Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, and Painting and Decorating, to Plastering, Plumbing, and Construction and the Built Environment, you’ll find a pathway that suits your interests and ambitions here at Hull College.
Our courses provide the building blocks for your future. You’ll train in realistic workshop environments, gain valuable hands-on experience, and learn from tutors with years of industry expertise. With strong employer links and the chance to take on industry placements, you’ll graduate ready to start your career or progress to higher-level study.
