Life After College
For many parents and carers, one of the biggest questions is what comes next after college. Whether your young person has a clear career goal or is still exploring their options, we will support them throughout their time at Hull College to take their next step with confidence.
Preparing for the Future
Students begin receiving careers guidance from the start of their programme. Alongside their studies, they have access to a range of opportunities designed to help them develop the skills, experience and confidence needed for life beyond college.
Support includes:
- One-to-one careers guidance and career planning
- Employability workshops
- CV writing and interview preparation
- Employer engagement activities
- Industry placements and work experience
- Labour market information and career advice
- Support with university and apprenticeship applications
These experiences help students make informed decisions and prepare them for the world of work, further study or higher education.
Progression Routes
After completing their studies, students may choose to progress into:
- Employment
- Apprenticeships
- University and Higher Education
- Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs)
- Further study and professional development
Many students continue their education before entering employment, while others move directly into the workplace or begin an apprenticeship. Every pathway offers valuable opportunities for growth and success.
Helping Students Find Their Next Step
Above all, we want every student to leave Hull College with more than just qualifications. We want them to leave with the confidence, skills and ambition to succeed in whatever path they choose.
Whatever their aspirations, our staff are committed to supporting students every step of the way as they prepare for life after college.
