Sport and Uniformed Protective Service students at the college were out and about in the community this week, assisting Active Humber with their Get Glowing session.

The event, held at Costello Sports Centre, was attended by 18 primary schools from across Hull and East Yorkshire and proved to be a fantastic experience for everyone involved as the students gained vital work and volunteering experience.

Feedback received from Jo McDonald at Active Humber was incredibly positive, who said: "I’d just like to say a huge thank you for bringing your sport and public service students across to Costello yesterday to lead on the Get Glowing event. They were a super bunch that all displayed a mature and responsible attitude throughout.

"They all took on board the tasks, listening to the instructions and then guiding and enthusing the primary school children throughout the activities. The success of these events is only possible with a good group of leaders and the Hull College students did not disappoint.

"It’s a long and tiring day for them and they kept going right through to the finish and even helped to pack away. They are a credit to your college and we hope to see them again at events in the future."

Tutor Matt Donkin added: "The students were fantastic all day, proven by the excellent feedback we received from Jo at Active Humber. It was a great experience for everyone involved."
