This week saw The Institute of Professional Studies welcome alumni, Przemyslaw Jerzy Stepien, back to Hull College to give a 90-minute presentation to our current group of Applied Science students.
Przemyslaw spent three years studying at the college between 2015 and 2018, gaining Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Applied Science before completing a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Lincoln in 2021.
He started his career as a Research and Development Operations Assistant at Reckitt in Hull late last year and is already moving up in the world of science with an exciting new role at another company on the horizon.
Our students were inspired to hear about Przemyslaw's journey to-date, who provided them with lots of advice and information from his experiences in education and employment throughout the informative presentation.
Reflecting on his return to the college, Przemyslaw said: "It was so exciting and surreal to be back, and it was fantastic to have the opportunity to speak to the students.
"I was happy to come back and see Viktoria (Tsakyri) and Jenny (Smith) and thank them in person for their support - without them I wouldn’t be where I am now. Also, I had the chance to speak to the next generation of potential scientists, which was an amazing experience for me.
"They were a fantastic group. I didn't think they would talk too much, but they were all very engaged, had lots of questions and were interactive throughout, which was great to see. Hopefully, they found my presentation interesting, informative and worthwhile."
