Artwork from a group of talented Hull College students went on show at a special launch event for the Hull International Brigade Exhibition on Thursday evening.

Held at The Brodrick Gallery in The Institute of Arts, the event showcased the exciting and creative work produced by students enrolled on Higher Education Photography, Graphic Design and Illustration courses at the college.

The exhibition features a range of art - inspired by those from Hull who travelled to Spain to fight fascism in the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39 - from collage to graphic design, with three beautiful and impactful 3D pieces also adding an extra dimension to the show.

The evening - which saw special guest Emma Hardy MP in attendance, along with relatives of the volunteers from Hull - proved to be a phenomenal celebration of the students' talent, and hard work, along with the wonderful pieces of work they have each created.

Students with pieces featured in the exhibition were: Gavin Holborn, Derek Donsworth, Charlie Pow, Richard Fishwick, Katie Clark, Rebecca Hewitt, Alastair Gordon, Georgia Christmass, Josh Steell, James Cooper, Sarah Kirby and Yasmin Broughton.
