Level 2 Cabin Crew students benefitted from more industry training this week when they visited EDM Aviation Training Academy in Manchester on Wednesday.

The day proved to be a fantastic experience for the group and saw them participate in a range of drills, including practical fire training (oven, seat and overhead locker fires), door operation, slide descent, pre-planned emergency training and pilot incapacitation procedure.

The students also had the opportunity to train alongside current Hans Airways staff who were on-site completing their three-year training updates. Pleasingly, the entire group received fantastic feedback from EDM Aviation Training Academy staff, who described our students as "fantastic ambassadors for Hull College'.

Student Izzy Robinson said: "I learnt so much from the day. The training was great and gave us all a fantastic insight into what is required to work in the industry. It was fun to join in, get involved and act out the different scenarios that will aid us when we look to start our careers."

Course tutor, Beverley Watson added: "All the students had a thoroughly enjoyable day that provided them with the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice and see the relevance of the knowledge they have gained on the course in a workplace environment.

"It really did inspire them to aim high in terms of their future careers. I was so proud of each and every one of them. Seeing them thrive and enjoy such a wonderful experience made me remember why the job is so special."
