Three of our Beauty Therapy students are preparing to showcase their skills on a regional stage after successfully qualifying for the next round of the prestigious WorldSkills UK competition.

Natalia Krupiczowicz, Levi Freeman, and Klaudia Kazimierek have all secured places in the regional heats following impressive performances and will now travel to York on 18th June to compete against some of the region’s most talented Beauty Therapy students.

As part of the competition, the Level 2 students will complete a series of professional treatments including an underarm wax, full manicure, and eyebrow treatment. Throughout the event, competitors will be assessed on a wide range of professional standards including technical skill, dexterity, client interaction, time management, and overall professional attitude.

For the students involved, reaching this stage of the competition is a huge achievement and reflects the dedication, confidence, and commitment they have shown throughout their studies.

Natalia revealed she is excited to build on her previous competition experience and continue developing her skills in a new specialism.

“Qualifying for the regional heats feels like a great achievement. Competitions are a great way to push yourself and grow. I’ve competed before in hairdressing and won competitions previously, so now moving into beauty therapy and continuing that journey is exciting. I think everyone should try them and enjoy taking part, rather than focusing only on winning – although of course I’d love to win!”

Levi explained that while the competition is a new experience for her, she is eager to challenge herself and see how far he can go.

“I’m looking forward to the regional heats, although I am a bit nervous. I know I need to get lots of practice in, but I’m proud to have got this far already. I’ve never really done anything like this before, so it’s a big step for me. My goal for the regional heats is to win. I want to push myself and see how far I can go.”

Klaudia added that she is enjoying the opportunity to apply her learning in a competitive setting and is motivated to continue progressing within the competition.

“It’s a really nice feeling to be able to take what I’m learning on my course and apply it to competitions like WorldSkills. It gives me the chance to really test myself. It’s been such a positive experience already. I’m definitely aiming to keep progressing. I’ve got big ambitions and I want to go as far as I can in WorldSkills UK.”

Opportunities such as WorldSkills UK play an important role in helping students develop the confidence, technical ability, and professionalism needed for successful careers within the beauty industry.

Everyone at the college is incredibly proud of Natalia, Levi, and Klaudia and wishes them the very best of luck as they prepare to compete in York next month.
