Course Overview
Throughout this programme, you will steadily build your practical skills through supervised, hands on practice, allowing you to apply what you learn with confidence while receiving guidance from experienced tutors. Alongside practical training, you will gain a strong theoretical understanding of hair and scalp science, exploring how structure, growth patterns, and common conditions influence your professional decisions. You will also develop detailed product knowledge, learning to select and use a wide range of professional products safely and effectively.
A key part of the programme focuses on maintaining high hygiene standards, ensuring you understand best practices for creating a clean, safe, and compliant working environment. You will also develop the essential skills and behaviours required in a professional salon, including communication, client care, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Course Structure
The course runs over one year, giving you time to develop and refine your skills. You will be assessed through a combination of practical, hands-on tasks that demonstrate your competence in real salon work, alongside online exams that test your theoretical understanding and underpinning knowledge.
Progression & Next Steps
This qualification allows you to progress directly onto our Level 3 Hairdressing programme, where you can further develop your skills and specialise in advanced techniques. Alternatively, it gives you the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to move into an apprenticeship or begin working in junior stylist roles
