Course Overview
This course is designed for you if you want to improve your GCSE English grade while developing your understanding of communication, culture and creativity. You’ll explore a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts from different themes, styles and time periods, helping you strengthen your independent reading skills and develop your own voice as a writer.
Throughout the year, you’ll build confidence in expressing ideas clearly and creatively while learning skills that can be applied across all areas of life. Lessons focus on analysing language, comparing texts and producing writing for different audiences and purposes. You’ll also take part in discussions, group activities and structured writing tasks that support your progress and prepare you for assessment.
Entry Requirements:
Preferably a Level 1 equivalent, or Grade D at GCSE, in chosen subject
