Course Overview

This programme acts as a bridge between school and further study, providing learners with the skills, confidence, and experience needed to progress onto higher-level creative courses or specialist vocational pathways. Ideal for learners who may be developing their confidence, building core study skills, or requiring additional support—including learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)—the course offers a supportive and engaging environment where every student is encouraged to express themselves creatively and develop their individual talents.

Through a broad and practical curriculum, learners will explore a wide range of creative disciplines, including:

Drawing and illustration techniques

Painting and mixed media

3D design and sculpture

Digital design and creative software

Photography and visual communication

Craft, textiles, and surface design

Creative project development and portfolio building

Learners are encouraged to experiment with materials, techniques, and ideas while developing key transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, planning, and independent working—all of which are essential for success in further education and the creative workplace.
