Course Overview

This course is designed for you if you want to understand crime, criminal behaviour and the justice system while developing practical skills that prepare you for employment or further study. You’ll explore criminology alongside psychology, sociology and criminal justice, building a critical understanding of how crime is shaped by social, cultural and political factors.

Throughout the programme, you’ll examine key theories of crime, social policy, rehabilitation and contemporary issues such as modern slavery, green crime and future global challenges. Research plays a central role in your learning, giving you the opportunity to plan and carry out your own primary research projects while developing analytical and reflective skills.

Teaching takes place in small, supportive groups where you’ll work both independently and collaboratively. Learning combines tutor-led sessions, group discussions, multimedia activities and real-world case studies, helping you connect theory with practice.
