Course Overview
This apprenticeship prepares you to work as an Early Years Practitioner in a range of settings, including nurseries, pre-schools, children’s centres and reception classes.
You’ll support the learning and development of children from birth to five, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Working as part of a team, you’ll help plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning through purposeful play. You’ll also assist with children’s personal care and contribute to observations and assessments. This role requires professionalism, safeguarding awareness and a genuine commitment to helping children feel safe, supported and valued.

Maths and English at 2(E) or above

Course Breakdown
Course Structure
You will spend one day per week at Hull College, developing your understanding of child development, safeguarding and early years practice.
The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, gaining hands-on experience supporting children in a real early years environment.
Progression & Next Steps
On completion, you can progress into continued employment with your current employer or further opportunities within early years education and childcare settings.
