Course Overview
This apprenticeship prepares you for a career as a Site Carpenter within the construction industry. Working on new build and refurbishment projects, you’ll develop the skills to create and install structural and finishing components using wood-based materials.
You’ll learn how to prepare, shape and fix materials safely and accurately, installing doors, staircases, partitions, floor systems and roof structures. Site Carpenters play a key role in delivering homes, schools, hospitals and commercial buildings, working alongside other construction trades and site professionals. By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll be confident working to industry standards in both domestic and commercial environments.

Maths and English at 2(E) or above

You could learn and develop skills in:

Course Breakdown
Course Structure
You will spend one day per week at Hull College, developing your technical knowledge and practical carpentry skills in specialist workshops.
The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, gaining hands-on experience and applying your learning in real working environments.
Progression & Next Steps
On completion, you can progress into full-time employment with your current employer or secure further opportunities within the construction industry as a Site Carpenter.
