Course Overview
This apprenticeship prepares you to become an Engineering Operative, working within manufacturing and engineering environments that are vital to the UK economy.
You’ll develop core engineering skills that are transferable across a wide range of sectors, from advanced manufacturing to fabrication and maintenance. Engineering Operatives support production by operating machinery, maintaining equipment, assembling components and ensuring processes run efficiently. You may work independently or as part of a team, following clear reporting structures and industry procedures. By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll be confident contributing to engineering operations while meeting quality, safety and performance standards.

Maths and English at 4(C) or above

Course Breakdown
Course Structure
You will spend one day per week at Hull College, building your technical knowledge and practical engineering skills in specialist workshops.
The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, gaining hands-on experience in a real engineering or manufacturing environment.

On completion, you can progress into full-time employment with your current employer or develop your career further within the engineering and manufacturing industries.
