THe Details

The Graphic Media Design course is designed to equip you with essential creative, design, and technical skills across both traditional and new media, preparing you for a successful future within a wide range of creative industries. You’ll explore how ideas are developed, refined, and communicated visually, while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and processes. Your learning is structured around professional, work-based units, supported by work experience and industry-set briefs. These projects reflect real-world creative practice and allow you to respond to client needs, manage deadlines, and develop professional workflows. Throughout the course, there is a strong focus on your individual ambitions and future goals, supporting you to build a distinctive personal portfolio that showcases your creative strengths. You’ll explore a wide range of design disciplines, including animation, advertising, video and sound design, web and interactive media, print-based design, illustration and character design, branding, logo design, packaging, and product design. This breadth allows you to experiment, specialise, and develop a clear creative direction. You’ll work in industry-standard design studios with access to Apple Mac computers, Adobe Creative software, and professional lens-based media equipment. Facilities include a film and green screen studio, video and sound editing software, and digital drawing and image-making tools. These resources provide everything you need to develop your technical skills, creative confidence, and professional portfolio, supporting progression to university, higher education, or a career in creative design and production.

UCAS provides support for young people making post-18 choices, as well as mature learners, by providing information, advice, and guidance to inspire and facilitate educational progression to university, college, or a degree apprenticeship.

We support 1.5 million students every year to explore entering higher education, employment and apprenticeships and manage almost three million applications, from around 700,000 people each year, for full-time undergraduate courses at over 380 universities and colleges across the UK.

It is important to note that when you enrol on an Access to HE courseyou can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college or training provider in England.

Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.

Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.
