THe Details

If you’re interested in hair or beauty but not quite ready for Level 2 study, this course gives you the perfect starting point. You’ll develop the confidence, skills and professional behaviours needed to begin your journey in a salon environment while gaining a Level 1 certificate in hairdressing. Throughout the course, you will explore the basics of hair styling, presentation and customer service while building your personal and employability skills. You’ll practise technical skills such as dressing, plaiting and twisting hair, alongside learning how to present yourself professionally, work as part of a team and communicate with clients. English and maths are an important part of your learning, helping you develop skills needed for real salon work, such as completing consultation cards, calculating product ratios, understanding costs and building confidence with money handling. You’ll gain experience working in one of our fantastic on-site salons, preparing you for progression onto Level 2 Hairdressing qualifications delivered at Salon QG.

UCAS provides support for young people making post-18 choices, as well as mature learners, by providing information, advice, and guidance to inspire and facilitate educational progression to university, college, or a degree apprenticeship.

It is important to note that when you enrol on an Access to HE courseyou can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college or training provider in England.

Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.

Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.
