Overview
Looking and
feeling your best is important to everyone. You can help people to do both with
our Level 3 Beauty and Spa Therapy Study Programme. Working in Salon QG on
campus, you will learn about electrical facial and body treatments, dry spa and
wraps, a range of massage therapies including traditional and aromatherapy
techniques, as well as gaining an understanding of the health and safety issues
that you need to know about in the beauty and spa industry.
You will do
additional work experience to test your practical knowledge and boost your
employability, English and maths skills as part of the programme.
This course
prepares you for your career as a beauty therapist, or spa therapist, working in
a salon or even on cruise liners! You can progress into higher education from
this course.
These are compulsory
areas:

Promote and sell products and services
to clients
•
Provide body
massage
•
Provide facial electrotherapy
treatments
•
Provide body electrotherapy
treatments
•
Anatomy &
Physiology
•
Provide dry spa treatments
Optional areas
include:
•
Provide Hot stone massage
treatments
•
Tanning treatments
•
Indian Head Massage
This qualification could
lead to a job as a senior beauty/spa therapist working in one of the following
establishments:
•
Beauty salon
•
Spa
•
Cruise ship
•
Hotel salon
If advanced
techniques are what you are interested in, you could continue your study on the
Foundation Degree in Advanced Beauty Therapy and Aesthetic
practice.

It is important to note that when you enrol on an Access to HE courseyou can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college or training provider in England.
Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.
Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.
