The world of work is evolving rapidly. Skills are shifting, industries are transforming, and conversations around leadership, technology, and identity are more urgent than ever. At Hull College, we’re not just responding to change - we’re actively helping to shape it.
That’s why we’ve launched The Hullraiser Podcast.
‘Hullraiser’ is more than a name. It’s an identity for those who challenge assumptions, ask better questions, drive progress, and lead with purpose. In this podcast, we’re creating space for honest, thought-provoking conversations with the people doing exactly that.
Each episode brings together voices from across industry, education, and community to explore the ideas and challenges that matter right now. From the future of work to the pressures facing young people, from digital influence to inclusive leadership, The Hullraiser Podcast will explore real issues, with real people, making a real impact.
We didn’t want to create just another broadcast. We wanted to spark meaningful dialogue - amplifying lived experience, professional insight, and underrepresented stories from Hull and beyond.
The podcast gives us a way to share those conversations widely - not just with our students and staff, but with employers, leaders, creatives, and anyone who cares about the future.
We’re not just talking into microphones. We’re building a platform that reflects what Hull College stands for: opportunity, growth, resilience, and community. This goes beyond sharing information. It’s about building connections, sparking action, and creating space for people to learn, reflect, and lead more effectively.
The Hullraiser Podcast is for anyone invested in progress. That includes business leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers driving innovation; employers focused on skills, talent, and future workforce development; educators and training providers looking to stay relevant and responsive; policy influencers and community stakeholders shaping regional impact - and anyone curious about how work, learning, and leadership are evolving.
Episode 1: ‘AI Won’t Save You, People Will’
Our first episode kicks off with Leon McQuade, Chief AI Officer at Think Cloud and Entrepreneur in Residence at Hull University Business School. Leon talks about the future of work, AI, mental health, and what it means to lead with purpose in a digital world. It’s a powerful start - but it’s only the beginning.
