Theatrical Make-up students at Hull College showed off their impressive skills last week when assisting with Hessle Theatre Company's production of Shrek - The Musical.

Based on the Oscar-winning film, the all-singing and all-dancing hit show - which ran at Hull New Theatre from Monday 21st March to Saturday 26th March - combined ogre-sized portions of hilarity and spectacle in what was the perfect must-see musical for the whole family - with our students playing a key role behind the scenes.

Each evening performance and the Saturday matinee was covered by the students and tutors from the college, where they learnt how to work professionally, assisting not only with the application of make-up and prosthetics  - but also the quick costume and wig changes.

The level 4 students involved were: Maddie Stork, Lily Peterson, Lizzie Moy, Chelsea Scott, Abigail Dimaline, Katie Fewlass, Elli Kennington, Katie Jefferson and Linzi Bellis. They were joined by Amanda Reeve (Tutor) and Natasha Davison (Trainee Tutor).

Actress Sarah Brodie - who played the role of Princess Fiona - spoke highly of our students' involvement and said: "Thank you to all your students so much for their hard work. They are all incredibly talented and have been so lovely to work with."
