Open Events are the perfect opportunity to discover what life is like at Hull College, as well as finding out more about the wide range of study options available to you.

Whether you're a school leaver thinking about a further education course or an apprenticeship or adult learner looking to get back into education or wanting more information on our degree-level courses, we want you to get the most out of your experience with us on Tuesday 17th January.

What To Do Ahead Of An Open Event?

It’s always wise to have a think about what subject areas and courses you are interested in studying and what you’d like to learn more about.

Think of any important questions you have about course(s) you are interested and make sure you write them down so you don’t forget. Our tutors will be on hand to answer any queries you may have and are always happy to help.

And don’t forget you don’t have to do this on your own - you’re more than welcome to bring a family member, or even a friend, along with you for moral support or offer advice.

So, What Happens At An Open Event?

When you first arrive at college, you will be greeted by our friendly staff inside our main Tower Block building who will register you as an attendee and find out which course(s) you are interested in looking at and discovering more about.

You will be provided with a map of the campus and a list of the rooms where each subject area will be based. Our workshops and classrooms will be set up to show you what kind of activities you can expect to be doing on each course.

Our tutors will go through the key details of the courses you're interested in studying, including entry requirements, what the study programmes include and progression options available to you. They will also be on hand to offer any advice and guidance you need, as well as answering your questions.

Once you’ve finished speaking to our tutors, you can head to either of our Application Hubs (located in the white space on the ground floor of the Tower Block) to complete an online application form.

You will also be able to enquire about the additional support available to students at the college such as student finance, careers guidance, transport and additional learning support if required.

If you're interested in an apprenticeship or degree-level study, don't worry - our dedicated staff will be on-hand to offer any advice and help you need.

Don't Forget To Speak To Our Student Ambassadors

The best way to find out what studying with us is like is to speak to our current crop of students. Our friendly and helpful Student Ambassadors will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about life at Hull College.
