Level 3 Performing Arts and Level 4, 5 & 6 Musical Theatre students at the college recently had the opportunity to take part in a specialist dance and acting through song workshop with industry professional Danny Whelan.

The workshop - held in the dance studios in the Horncastle Building - enabled the group to explore the world of dance before switching to song, with Danny giving feedback, helpful advice and suggestions to all students involved to aid their progression and development.

Since graduating from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Danny has gained a variety of roles. His credits include roles in Magic at the Musicals, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Baby and Rent and he is currently starring in the Bat Out of Hell UK & International Tour as Ledoux and covering the lead role of Strat.

Reflecting on the experience of working with our students, Danny said: “It was a pleasure to share my knowledge and experience of working in the industry with such a dedicated and amazing set of students. I can’t praise the whole group enough - they were all fantastic listeners and took everything on board. It was great to see so much passion and talent in the room.”
