We are proud to share that Hull College has been shortlisted in four categories at the Educate North Awards 2026, recognising the impact of our work across education, innovation, and student success.

Most exciting of all, three of our students have been shortlisted for the prestigious College or FE Student Achievement of the Year award, highlighting the incredible talent, dedication and ambition within our Hullraisers community.

The Educate North Awards celebrate excellence across universities, colleges and sixth forms across the North of England, recognising institutions and individuals who are making a real difference in education and their communities.

Celebrating Student Success

This year, we are particularly proud to see three Hull College students recognised at this level, each demonstrating exceptional commitment and creativity in their studies.

Niko-Rae Rust and Robert Rakhra, both studying Art & Design Level 3, have been shortlisted for their outstanding work and dedication to their creative practice. Alongside them, Sienna Minns, a Beauty & Spa Level 3 student, has also been recognised for her passion, professionalism and commitment to developing her skills within the industry.

To have three students shortlisted in the same category is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work, determination and talent shown by our learners every day.

Recognition for Innovation and Partnership

Alongside our student nominations, we have also been shortlisted in three college-wide categories that recognise our commitment to innovation, collaboration and excellence in education.

Our AI Academy has been shortlisted for the Business Engagement Award – HE/FE Sector, recognising our work with industry partners to develop future-focused digital skills and prepare students for emerging technologies.

Our powerful collaborative project, ‘Locked Out: The Day the Jobs Disappeared,’ created in partnership with HEY! Volunteering, has been shortlisted for the Game-Changing Education Award. The project highlights the real impact of technological change on employment and encourages learners to think critically about the future of work.

Finally, we are also incredibly proud to be shortlisted for Further Education College of the Year, recognising the continued transformation of our college and the impact we are making for students, employers, and communities across Hull and the Humber region.

The ENAs recognise and celebrate world class achievements across the University, Higher Education (HE), Further Education (FE), and Sixth Form sectors throughout the north of England. Established in 2015, the awards are run in collaboration with Heart Yorkshire, Smooth North West, and Smooth North East. This year’s results will be announced at a ceremony at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Thursday 7th May.
