Course Overview
If you are looking to begin a career in teaching within further education, sixth forms, adult education or training organisations, this course provides the foundation you need. You will develop a holistic understanding of teaching, learning and assessment, alongside the opportunity to specialise in your subject area.
The course is strongly practice-based, giving you the opportunity to complete at least 250 hours of teaching placement across the year. During your placement, you will observe experienced teachers, develop your own teaching practice and receive support from both tutors and workplace mentors to build your confidence in the classroom.
You will explore key areas such as curriculum design, inclusive practice and assessment strategies, while also developing your ability to reflect on your teaching and continuously improve your professional practice. The programme prepares you to contribute to teaching, learning and curriculum development within a range of educational settings.

A good relevant undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification.
