What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is your chance to earn while you learn – simple as that! You’ll split your time between working for an employer and studying with us at Hull College. This means you’ll get real hands-on experience in your chosen industry while working towards your qualification.

You’ll be treated as an employee, with a wage and holiday pay, but you’ll also have the support of expert tutors and assessors to guide you through your training. And with 99% of our apprentices telling us they feel more confident in themselves, 97% saying they’ve developed the skills and knowledge to move forward, and 96% leaving with a clear plan for their next step – it’s clear that an apprenticeship is a fantastic way to kick-start your career.

I love the variety an apprenticeship offers – no two days are ever the same. One day I might be working on solar panels, the next I’m installing brackets for cables. The people I work with are amazing too. Everyone at GW Power is so lovely and supportive, and each person brings something different. You learn so much just by watching and working alongside them.”
