Tutorials at Hull College
As a student at Hull College, tutorials are an important part of your learning experience.
In the classroom and beyond
Tutorials help you develop the skills and confidence you need beyond your main course. Weekly timetabled tutorial sessions focus on key themes linked to employability and adult life, ensuring you’re prepared for your next steps.
You’ll take part in group tutorials led by your tutor, covering topics such as wellbeing, British Values, online safety, Prevent, and personal development. Tutorials also provide dedicated one-to-one support, giving you time to set goals, review progress, and explore future options including apprenticeships, employment, and Higher Education.
Across the academic year, you’ll also benefit from three Student CPD Weeks, offering workshops in employability and digital skills, independence and citizenship, and mental health and wellbeing. These sessions are designed to strengthen your CV and support your transition beyond college.
Alongside tutorials, our Enrichment Programme gives you opportunities to get involved in youth social action projects, sports clubs, and creative activities – helping you build skills, friendships, and experiences that make a real difference.
Being surrounded by so many people who share the same passion and enthusiasm has been incredibly inspiring. It’s a real breath of fresh air to learn alongside like-minded students, constantly exchanging ideas and encouraging each other to push creative boundaries. The environment here makes you feel motivated, supported, and excited to grow – both creatively and personally.
