How You Can Get Involved
Learner Representatives
Learner Reps are chosen by students in class groups, usually during tutorials, through a student vote. Reps meet within their Institutes each term to discuss feedback and follow a standard agenda, with minutes recorded. These discussions form the foundation of wider Student Council meetings.
Student Council Student
Council members are selected from the Institute Rep meetings, with usually two students representing each Institute. The Council meets with senior leaders from Learner Services three times a year, providing a platform to raise key issues, share feedback, and ensure the wider student voice is heard at a strategic level.
Student Governor
Student Governors represent the student body at College Governance meetings, sharing insight into the student experience and contributing to important decisions. The role is appointed following an expression of interest and interview process, led by the Chair of Governors.
Getting involved in the Student Voice is a great way to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and make a real difference. Your voice matters – and at Hull College, it helps shape the future experience for our students.
