Three of our students had the opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day in an inspiring way this week, attending KCOM’s International Women’s Day Student Networking Event 2026 on Wednesday 11th March.
Stephanie Guerrero, Alex Ward and Lena Gawlick represented us at the event, which brought together students from across the region to celebrate and empower the next generation of women.
Now in its third year, the event continues to grow as a platform for inspiration, connection and personal development. Throughout the day, students heard powerful stories from inspiring speakers, took part in interactive activities designed to build confidence and develop new skills, and connected with other young people from across the Humber region.
A highlight of the event was a lively Q&A panel discussion featuring three women from KCOM who were recognised in the Hull & Humber Top 30 Under 30. The panel shared insights into their career journeys, offering valuable advice and encouragement to the students in attendance.
This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” ran throughout the event, highlighting the importance of kindness, collaboration and supporting one another to create new opportunities and achieve success.
For Stephanie, Alex and Lena, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to hear from inspiring professionals, gain confidence and build connections beyond the classroom. Experiences like this help our students broaden their horizons, develop valuable skills and gain insight into the opportunities available to them in the future.
We are incredibly proud to see our students embracing opportunities like this and representing our college with enthusiasm, confidence, and ambition.
