Course Overview
This programme is designed to help you develop essential skills and knowledge in sport, preparing you to progress into further study or employment within the sports and leisure industry. You will build skills that are relevant across the sector, including coaching, working in outdoor environments, sport and active leisure, sports volunteering, nutrition and health, and supporting sporting events. The programme also gives you the opportunity to develop practical sporting and coaching skills, while learning how to stay active and healthy.
You will also have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications to boost your employability and widen your skill set, including a Sports Leaders qualification and a First Aid qualification.

Course Structure
The course is delivered over one year and combines classroom-based learning with practical sessions. You will be assessed through internal assessment methods such as coursework, practical performance, presentations, and group work. The course can lead on to Level 2 study in sport or related areas, as well as entry-level employment within the sports and leisure industry. It also helps you build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to progress further, whether you choose to continue your education, move into training opportunities, or begin your career in the sector.
