Course Overview
This apprenticeship prepares you to become a skilled Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician, capable of installing, maintaining and commissioning plumbing and heating systems in domestic properties and on construction sites.
You’ll work with hot and cold water systems, sanitation, drainage and central heating equipment, including boilers and associated pipework. The role requires strong technical ability alongside excellent customer service, as you’ll regularly interact with homeowners and clients.
Whether working independently or as part of a wider construction team, you’ll ensure all work meets industry standards, safety regulations and current building requirements while delivering efficient, high-quality installations and repairs.

Maths and English at 4(C) or above

Course Breakdown
Course Structure
You will spend one day per week at Hull College, developing your technical knowledge and practising installation skills in specialist workshops. The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, applying your skills on-site in domestic properties or construction environments.
Progression & Next Steps
On completion, you can progress into continued employment with your current employer or explore further opportunities within the plumbing and heating industry, including advanced technical or supervisory roles.
