Course Overview
If you’re unemployed and you are looking for a quick, practical route into one of the most exciting and people-focused industries, this programme is for you. Hospitality offers a wide range of roles across restaurants, cafés, hotels, catering companies, and event venues, with strong opportunities for progression.
This short, intensive programme combines sector-specific training with employability support and direct links to employers. It is ideal if you’re new to hospitality or returning to work. On successful completion, you are guaranteed a job interview with one of Hull College’s hospitality employer partners.
Throughout the course, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the core skills employers look for. Training focuses on customer service, teamwork, health and safety, food hygiene, and professional behaviour in hospitality settings. You’ll learn how to work safely and efficiently, deliver excellent customer experiences, and understand the expectations of front-of-house and catering roles.
You’ll complete a range of recognised qualifications and workshops that strengthen your CV and help you stand out to employers. These include employability skills to boost confidence and interview readiness, customer service training for hospitality environments, and essential food safety and health and safety knowledge.
Learning takes place in a supportive environment, with experienced tutors guiding you through practical activities and real-world scenarios. The programme is designed to reflect the pace and standards of the hospitality industry, helping you feel confident and job-ready.
