Course Overview
This apprenticeship prepares you for a career as a Bricklayer within the construction industry, working on both new build and refurbishment projects.
You’ll learn how to lay bricks and blocks to construct walls and structural elements, following detailed design plans and specifications. From small domestic repairs to large-scale commercial developments, bricklayers play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality buildings. You’ll develop the ability to set out work, prepare mortar and use tools accurately while working safely on site. Sustainability, safety and workmanship are central to the role, ensuring projects meet industry and environmental standards.

Maths and English at 2(E) or above

Course Breakdown
Course Structure
You will spend one day per week at Hull College, developing your technical knowledge and practical bricklaying skills in specialist workshops.
The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, gaining hands-on experience on live construction projects.
Progression & Next Steps
On completion, you can progress into continued employment with your current employer or secure further opportunities within the construction industry as a Bricklayer.
