Course Overview
This apprenticeship prepares you to become a skilled Autocare Technician, working in fast-fit centres, garages or national automotive chains. You’ll carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work on cars, light vans and light goods vehicles, using industry-standard tools and diagnostic equipment.
Alongside developing strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, you’ll build valuable customer service and communication skills. Autocare Technicians play a key role in delivering high-quality workmanship while supporting business performance through professional customer interactions. By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll be confident working both independently and as part of a team in a busy automotive environment.

Course Breakdown
Course Structure
You will spend one day per week at Hull College, building your technical knowledge and practical skills in specialist automotive workshops.
The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, gaining hands-on experience servicing and repairing vehicles in a real working environment.
Progression & Next Steps
On completion, you can progress into full-time employment with your current employer or develop your career further within the automotive industry, including progression to higher-level technician roles.
