Course Overview

This apprenticeship prepares you to become an Advanced Architectural Joiner, working primarily in a workshop environment to manufacture complex and high-quality timber components.

You’ll build on existing joinery skills to create bespoke products such as detailed doors, staircases, windows and decorative features. Advanced Architectural Joiners work on both new build and refurbishment projects, often producing specialist or heritage pieces requiring precision and craftsmanship.

You’ll gain experience using a full range of woodworking machinery and advanced techniques to meet exact specifications. By the end of the programme, you’ll be confident producing complex assembled products to professional standards.

Maths and English at 4(C) or above

80% Practical
20% Theory

Course Structure

You will spend one day per week at Hull College, developing advanced technical knowledge and workshop-based joinery skills.

The remaining four days per week will be spent with your employer, gaining hands-on experience manufacturing complex architectural components.

On completion, you can progress into continued employment with your current employer or further opportunities within architectural joinery or specialist manufacturing roles in the construction industry.
