When you do an apprenticeship, you will be employed with and paid by the company you work with. Below are the minimum payment amounts that apprentices must receive (published 2019/20 rates; subject to change).
For apprentices aged 19 and over, in the 1st year of the apprenticeship your minimum rate will be lower than the National Minimum Wage. Once you are past the end of the 1st year, you will be paid at least the National Minimum Wage for your age category.

|25 and over after completion of 1st year of apprenticeship||£8.21 per hour (2019/20 rate)|
You’ll get at least 20 days paid holiday per year, plus bank holidays.
