Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)

Careers Advice and Information

Our Team of Student Advisors are able to give impartial Careers Information to 16-18’s via an appointment service on Mondays, Thursdays and a drop in service on Friday. Call today on 01482 598744 to make an appointment or via email CareersAdvice@hull-college.ac.uk.

Alternatively visit the team in person located in our Chesters Building.

Careers Information, Advice and Guidance

16-18 year old students can visit the Hull Connexions desk in the Student Services area at Queen’s Gardens for specialist careers advice, including help and guidance with education and career pathways. We offer a drop in service on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Parents and carers are welcome to contact us too. Call today on 01482 598735 .

Counselling Service

Need to talk? Free and confidential counselling services are available to Hull and Goole College students who need to talk about mental health, stress or other issues affecting them.

Hull College Counselling Service provides a confidential and professional counselling service for students of Hull and Goole Colleges. Students can refer themselves and can come for counselling around any issue, whether it is personal or related to college.

Additional Support  

Our Student Support doesn’t just apply to courses and financial issues, when you study at Hull College you will also receive the benefit of a Personal Tutor, who will work with you throughout your programme, and help to make sure you stay on target to achieve everything that you want to.

Our Student Coaches, who work alongside the tutors to supplement regular study sessions with group and on-to-one sessions, will also help to identify any vulnerable students and develop joint strategies to support them.

The support available to students with a physical or learning disability has been widely recognised as excellent, and the college has its own specialist team of support workers to provide dedicated support. Our Maxwell Bird building houses a first class facility offering adapted and specialist materials and equipment to assist students with visual or hearing impairments.

Students who may need assistance with English, Maths or Language skills can also gain support from a highly trained team of specialists, and we can assist you right away from the first stage of application and throughout your time with us.
