13th November 2018

The Construction and Engineering departments had a busy morning on Tuesday 13th November, as 40 students from Cottingham High School visited Hull College to get a feel for what learning life is like in these hands-on subject areas.

Escorted by Level 3 learners, Engineering tutor Michael Leslie and Technician Brian Taylor, Cottingham High students toured the facilities of the Construction Building and were shown the varied equipment that each department has access to.

Not only was this a great opportunity for the school students, but it proved excellent experience for the Hull College leaners who got involved with the tour by answering questions and giving demonstrations. This gave learners a chance to give back and prove what they have learnt during their studies.

Towards the end of the visit, Cottingham High students had the chance to manufacture a key ring which they took away with them to act as a reminder of the day.

This is another great example of Hull College’s encouragement of working partnerships with local schools, and building vital relationships with potential learners.
