The Student Conference Week took place last week, which saw a fantastic collaboration between Higher Education at Hull College, The Student Union and YADA YADA NOISE.

Led by degree-level students at the College, the week saw an impressive programme of events which included sharing our students work, a series of informative guest lectures from industry professionals and expert-led activities which were all delivered online.

There were also a number of social events, including a stand-up show by comedian - and Hull College Alumni - Jack Gleadow, a Spoken Word Open Mic Night event organised by current MA Creative Practice student Alice Godber (YADA YADA NOISE) and music performances from our very own students as well.

Reflecting on the success of the week, Director of Higher Education Paul Waltham said: “It was so pleasing to see our students take ownership of their own enhancement activities, and planning events for other degree students.

“The three students involved in the planning of the week will have developed a range of skills that will benefit them hugely when they begin to scope out opportunities after completing their degree studies.

“The sessions I was involved in during the week were excellent, with some very clear messages about the importance of networking and grasping openings that are presented to students within their studies. I must also extend thanks to Dr Debbie Meakin for supporting the students throughout the planning phase for the conference and throughout the week.”
