Hull College Higher Education will be opening its doors for you to come and:

  • Take part in workshops and lectures
  • Explore our HE campus
  • Speak with lecturers and current students
  • Find out the facts on Student Finance and career options
  • There will be an optional folk trail with Chris Jordan for applicants families

Thinking of attending an Applicant Day? These handy FAQ's should help with any queries you may have.

I have already attended an Open Day - do I need to go to an Applicant Day too?

Yes – The Applicant Days are specifically tailored to our Higher Education and Degree programmes; they give you the chance to meet lecturers and ask any questions you have. It is likely that lecturers will want to interview you or assess your portfolio at an Applicant Day too.

How do I book onto an Applicant Day?

Please fill out the form here. Alternatively you can sign in on the day, but please note some workshops might fill up!

Do I have a choice of dates that I can attend?

Yes – there are four Applicant Days in 2019. They are:

Wednesday 6th March @ Horncastle building

Saturday 22nd June @ Horncastle building

Friday 16th August @ Horncastle building

Wednesday 1st May @ Hull School of Art & Design

Can we bring guests?

All applicants are welcome to bring guests for the whole day. There will be a Hull Folk Trail from 2-3:30 pm for guests to attend while applicants are in their afternoon workshops and interviews.

What time does the Applicant Day start and finish?

Each Applicant Day will start at 10:45 am and finish at 3:30 pm.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

If the programme you’ve applied to requires a portfolio assessment, please bring that with you to the Applicant Day.

Is lunch included?

Yes – there will be a buffet style lunch at 1:00 pm.

What parking arrangements are available for those travelling to the College by car?

The college car parks will all be open to the public for every Applicant Day. Alternatively there are pay & display car parks on Wilberforce Drive and Freetown Way.

Where shall I report to on arrival?

On 6th March / 22nd June / 16th August please report to the Horncastle Building (glass building at the back of the college opposite napoleons)

On 1st May please report to Hull School of Art & Design.

Is there anywhere to eat on campus?

Yes – a complementary lunch will be served in HU1 Riverside restaurant between 1 and 2 pm.
