11th December 2019
Last week, Hull College hosted its second themed week, this time focusing on the importance of maths and English.
Across the college, different departments ran activities, sessions and workshops to show learners how these fundamental subjects are directly applied to the vocational courses they are studying.
Level 2 and 3 nail students had a glitter mixing masterclass to learn better understand ratios and Level 2 beauty students created face masks measuring precise ingredients.
On Wednesday 4th December, the maths and English department hosted a motivational speaker in the HU1 Riverside restaurant, where staff and students were invited to come along and listen to an insightful talk.
Catering learners also used maths within their lesson, to measure and prepare ingredients.
Alongside the activities, there was also a promotional table in reception promoting the benefits of improving maths and English in the ‘Study Hub’.
It’s never too late to obtain your GCSEs in maths and English. View the courses we offer in these subjects below.
