Emma Hardy MP officially opens Hull College’s Innovation, Quality and Staff Development (IQ) Lab.

The IQ Lab is a place for staff to experiment with new technology and enhance the learning resources delivered to students.

With the approach of ‘thinking differently’, staff are encouraged to test and practice using the new technology before rolling them out into lesson plans.

Offering training for a team of tutors exploring a specific curriculum as well as 1 to 1 bespoke training, there’s a chance for everyone to discover the resources available to enhance classroom delivery.

The Quality Department, who are working in partnership with Learning and ICT Services, collectively make up the IQ Lab Team.

Promoting an interactive way of learning and improving information retention among students, the IQ Lab aims to bring new technology into all departments in the college.

There’s also a chance to experiment using augmented reality in lessons and use software that’s simpler than PowerPoints, which saves tutors time and gets students energised!
