Critiquing session with Hull New Theatre has inspired learners to delve deeper into project development.

Level 3 Graphic Design students have been working for the Royal Opera House, producing marketing material for La Bohème.

As part of the project, the department utilised their employer link with Hull New Theatre and invited PR Officer David Paine for a critiquing session with the learners at the college.

David was able to provide key and constructive industry feedback to the group, which they can use to improve and develop their work.

Student Emily Bennett said, “This experience gave me a good insight into how other people work within the industry and how their opinions can influence my work. I was able to take away some new concepts from the feedback I was given.”

Katie Leonard, who is also studying Graphic Design added, “Being able to receive an industry perspective on my work has influenced me to develop my project further because David works with the public and he really knows his target audience. This experience has also boosted my confidence to stand up and present in front of others because the critique was comfortable and more of a group discussion”.

At Hull College we are extremely proud of what our students achieve. Our students are successful across all departments and are given the opportunity to accomplish their goals, resulting in a CV that stands out.
