Students from the Hull College School of Hospitality & Catering succeeded in bringing back the gold after winning a national culinary competition.

The team of 7 learners, from level 2 and level 3 culinary skills, competed at one of the largest live culinary competitions held within the UK.

The students scooped 5 gold, 19 silver and 8 bronze awards which they achieved over 3 days in Wessex at the Brockenhurst College.

The applicant’s skills were challenged by a range of dishes created within a timed period, it was therefore vital to work to a high standard in low conditions, which tested the talents of the aspiring chefs.

However, Hulls team pulled through with the wins, and achieved the largest haul of medals Hull College has seen in a major culinary competition.

These events are a perfect opportunity for the College to show off the very best skills of the students and how they always come out on the winning side.

We are very proud to be able to share this story and we hope it inspires more people to join Hull College.
