On the City & Guilds Level 1 CMO Study Programme you will learn the basic skills that you require on your journey to becoming a fully qualified construction industry professional.

This study programme will introduce you to basic Bricklaying, Plastering, Painting & Decorating and Carpentry & Joinery skills, as well as to Health & Safety legislation. You will also gain hands-on work experience, set in real life situations such as renovation and/or new build projects which will develop your employability skills and analytical thinking skills.

An integral part of your Study Programme is English and maths which will be wrapped around your Study Programme. On successful completion of this course you can potentially progress onto a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship or a full time City & Guilds Level 2 Study Programme within your chosen trade area.

Entry Requirements

Maths and English at 1(G) or above
In addition: Good hand eye coordination skills and a keen interest in the construction trades. You will be required to wear PPE (safety boots, overalls and safety glasses) as well as departmental uniform.
