This BTEC Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment provides specialist content that relates to construction and built environment. The qualification aims to provide an understanding of the construction industry, including Construction Principles, Construction Design, Health and Safety.
This study programme course, is for students who are 19+,who want to progress into professional roles, such as architecture, quantity surveying, site management with the possibility of university.
The course requires part-time attendance, usually one day a week for two years.
The means of learning and assessment varies between subject units, but includes coursework, group and individual assignments, presentations and end tests of written nature in two core units.
Successful completion of this programme leads to the award of the Pearson Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Construction. What is required to join the programme Four GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above including maths, science and English or an Edexcel (BTEC) first certificate or diploma in construction, or NVQ,Level 2/3 Craft, or consideration will be given at the discretion of the College if it is felt the student is likely to be successful.
Progression on to a HNC course at Hull College linked to future progression to a full BSC (Hons) degree at university is possible, or direct entry into university subject to grades. Construction Management or other construction discipline, Foundation Degree or Certificate in Higher Education in Construction. Alternatively, you could seek employment in the construction and built environment sector for example; Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management Working in the construction industry is a job for those with dependability, strength and intelligence. The Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment Study Programme teaches you a range of valuable skills to give you a broad understanding of the industry as a whole.
